“Speaks From The Heart”
Digital Storytelling – Media Arts Finalist 2014
The ImagineNATIVE Film & Media Arts Festival – Celebrating 15 years
ImagineNative will be presenting Crystal Favel’s (aka DJ Kwe) story Speaks From The Heart. The “Speaks from the Heart” audio art project is an experimental digital storytelling glimpse into the world of a young mixed-blood with the heart of a female warrior. Cedar Woman is haunted by the memories of her torturous youth while suffering horrific family sexual abuse. This anti-bullying message is based on the author’s life experiences: each carrying the weight of the world, yet with the resiliency to overcome adversity and to shine.
